I am seeking your assistance in distributing a survey to your colleagues  
in the Economic History Society.  I am investigating lost and missing  
corporate and government records as part of Australia's Memory of the  
World Project (a UNESCO Program).  This research will lead to a listing  
of important documents which are thought to be lost or missing that are  
significant to Australia's documentary heritage.  
 
  
 
A possible response to the survey may include a specific company or  
government department which may have had its records such a ledgers,  
minutes, files or diaries destroyed by fire, flood or by deliberate  
destruction.
