Claus Dieter Krohn's book on the history of the Graduate Faculty
('University in Exile') of the New School, INTELLECTUALS IN EXILE, has
lots of info on the topic, with an appendix with many or all of the
names of those supported, and not only those who were at the New School.
There are also many interesting anecdotes. This is the English title of
the book originally written and published in German.
