An Economic History Research Networking Programme of the European
Science Foundation (ESF)
"Growth and Globalization: Hardships, Barriers and Economic Policies"
Monday, June 29 - Friday, July 3, 2009
Hosted by Instituto de Ciencias Sociais, University of Lisbon

The School is scientifically endorsed by the European Historical
Economics Society

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Main lecturer: Nick Crafts (Warwick). Other lecturers: Cormac
O'Grada(UC Dublin); Larry Neal (Un. Illinois and LSE); Giovanni
Federico(European University Institute); Niko Wolf (Warwick). The
Summer School is targeted to PhD and post-doc students in economics,
economic history and related disciplines, and has a duration of 5 days.
Each day there will be two main lectures by invited speakers in the
morning. In the afternoon simultaneous Student Sessions will take
place, in which Ph.D. and Post-doc students will present and discuss
their research papers with senior scholars.

Jong (U Groningen); Stefano Battilossi (U Carlos III Madrid)

Applications must be sent electronically, together with a short CV, to
Ms. Lidia Merás, GLOBALEURONET Programme Coordinator, at:

by 10 April 2009 (EXTENDED DEADLINE). Accepted candidates will be
notified by the first week of May, 2009. GLOBALEURONET will award a
limited number of grants covering accommodation and travel expenses.
