The UCLA Center for Economic History invites scholars who work in
economic history to apply to come spend the 2009-10 academic year at
UCLA, participate in the intellectual life of the economic history
group, work on their own research projects, and teach a course if
desired. Recipients must hold the Ph.D. or equivalent degree but can
come from any discipline and work on any subject, geographic area, or
period of economic history. Recent Ph.D.s are especially encouraged to
apply. Successful applicants must be in residence at UCLA for the
academic year and participate in the Center's weekly workshop and
proseminar. Compensation will depend on current salary, other sources
of funding, and whether or not the person teaches, but will not exceed
$72,000.
To apply, please send a CV, short research proposal, and representative
article or other publication to Naomi Lamoreaux via email at
lamoreaux at econ.ucla.edu. We will also need at least two letters of
recommendation. There is no application deadline, but we will begin
reviewing applications on December 1, 2008. UCLA is an affirmative
action/equal opportunity employer and has a strong commitment to the
achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff.
