The Economic History Association seeks a new director for EH.Net, to
oversee the operation of the EH.Net website. This involves
maintaining the website on a server, hiring and supervising a
computer programmer to make adjustments to the software required to
operate the site, hiring and supervising a person to update the
content of the site, interacting with the various committees and
editors who provide content to the site, and interacting with the
various associations for which the site provides links. It is also
an opportunity to add new features and projects that will benefit the
economic history community. Robert Whaples at Wake Forest University
is the current EH.Net director, and he will step down from that
position during the summer of 2008. Robert has done a fine job and
will be happy to help make the transition to a new director a smooth
process.

Recommendations for a successor will be made by the EH.Net Executive
Committee, which consists of Price Fishback (Chair), Alan Dye, Lee
Alston, and John Murray. Alex Field and Jari Eloranta are ex officio
members.

The Economic History Association and other affiliated organizations
currently provide a budget of about $15,000 a year, which can be used
to help provide administrative assistance and programming support for
the director. This recommendation will then go to the Association's
Board of Trustees for approval.

If you have interest in the position or would like to suggest someone
whom you believe will be a good administrator, contact Price Fishback
at pfishback at eller.arizona.edu or Alex Field (EHA Executive Director)

currently involves, you might wish to contact Robert Whaples at
