Associate Professorship in Business History

The Department of Management, Politics and
Philosophy, MPP, invites applications for a
vacant Associate Professorship in Business
History. Preference will be given to applicants
with cultural- and history-use approaches. The
associate professor will join our Centre for
Business History.

The Centre for Business History conducts research
into the historical development of the modern
enterprise and its business environment. In this,
the enterprise is examined within its full
societal, conceptual, and institutional context.
The objectives of the Centre's activities are:

to contribute to the understanding of the modern
enterprise as an actor and driving force in
societal development

to afford a greater insight into the internal
dynamics of the modern enterprise in its
interaction with the environment

to improve the understanding of the importance of
the general societal development to the
development of the modern enterprise

MPP is a highly productive and innovative
research environment, and is home to an
internationally established doctoral school. MPP
is organized into four research groups,
complemented by an administrative unit that
provides professional support for research and
teaching functions. The department's research is
unified by a creative, interdisciplinary dialogue
that challenges the various disciplines and
perspectives it houses. This means that
management, politics, philosophy, sociology and
history, which constitute the department's core
areas, will become productive and critically
relevant in novel ways. The department is
confident that a synergy of research and teaching
can be attained, as is shown by our efforts to
train independent and reflexive management
practitioners.

The Associate Professorship is a tenured position
with research and teaching obligations.

Successful applicants are expected to be
physically present and actively participate in
the teaching and research activities of the
department.
