New meeting series: Future Research in Economic and Social History
(FRESH) meetings

The FRESH meetings are aimed at researchers in any field of economic
and social history. The meetings build on the concept that scholars
present their ongoing research at an early stage, i.e. before it
becomes published as a working paper or the like, and certainly
before it is published in journals or books. The main aim of the
meetings is to gather researchers in a friendly and non-imposing
environment where they can present their research and receive
constructive criticism from their peers.

The meetings have no permanent venue but will take place at any
institution around the world where there is an interest in having the
FRESH meeting. Hosting institutions will be asked to provide a venue,
including electronic equipment. If you would like to organize a FRESH
meeting at your institution, please contact
<http://www.keynes.dk/fresh/contact.htm> the meeting organizers
(contact details available on the FRESH website: www.keynes.dk/fresh).

The 1st FRESH meeting will be held in Paris, France, on October 29
2007, hosted by the Paris School of Economics (please note that
registration for this meeting is closed). The 2nd FRESH meeting is
scheduled in Florence, Italy, in April 2008. The meeting details and
a Call for papers will be posted on the FRESH website:
www.keynes.dk/fresh shortly.

FRESH meeting members will automatically receive notification of
upcoming meetings and are offered a discount on meeting registration
fees. Membership is free and involves the member's name and a link to
his or her personal website being posted on the FRESH meeting
website. Prospective members are encouraged to join the FRESH
meetings group on facebook: www.facebook.com, but membership can also
be acquired by visiting the FRESH website: www.keynes.dk/fresh.

The meetings are organized by Paul Sharp
<http://www.keynes.dk/fresh/contact.htm> and Jacob Weisdorf
<http://www.keynes.dk/fresh/contact.htm> (contact details available
on the FRESH website).

The FRESH website address is www.keynes.dk/fresh.

On behalf of the organizers,

Jacob Weisdorf
