XVth World Economic History Congress Utrecht, the Netherlands, 3-7 August 2009
A preliminary programme for the World Economic History Congress in
2009 in Utrecht is now available on the congress website
(http://www.wehc2009.org). The programme is the result of a first
call for session proposals issued last year, which rendered a very
good response. The Executive Committee of the International Economic
History Association accepted a total of 51 sessions on a wide variety
of subjects in economic history. The congress promises to be an event
no scholar in economic history will want to miss. Besides the regular
sessions it will also include a dissertation competition, a poster
session for young researchers, and a series of keynote lectures on
the ongoing process of transformation of the world economy and its
relationship with the aim of sustainability. There are two ways to
participate in the congress. For one, the organizers of several
sessions have issued an open call for papers: you can check them on
the congress website, contact the organizers and discuss with them
the possibility of presenting a paper at any of these sessions.
Alternatively you can propose a session of your own: a second call
for session proposals will be issued in April next year.
More information on the congress can be found on the website. If you
have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact the congress
secretary (Jessica Dijkman) at info at wehc2009.org.
