The final Washington Area Economic History 
Seminar for fall semester will be held Friday, 
December 7, 2008 and features Cormac Ó Gráda 
(University College, Dublin) speaking on:

The Ripple that Drowns? Twentieth-Century Famines 
in China and India as Economic History

Visitors to the Washington area are invited to 
arrive at 6:00 p.m. for the seminar to begin at 
6:30 p.m.  Both the seminar and the dinner will 
be held at the home of John Wallis (please see 
the invitation web site for a map), and will cost 
$10.00 per person.

For this seminar the order of dinner and seminar 
will be reversed. The seminar will proceed the 
dinner. Please RSVP to John Wallis by email, 
<Wallis at econ.umd.edu>, by Wednesday, December 5. 
Please let him know whether you will be attending 
the seminar at 6:30 and/or the dinner at 8:00.

Details for spring will be sent out at a later date.
