Abstract:
This paper examines the place of women in early twentieth century
Russian business. I establish the place of females in this class
hierarchical system of business relations by defining and analysing
the main social and economic parameters that reflect the structure of
this business, the sources of updating and the number of women
engaged in it. The combined system approach is elected as a method of
research that considers the place of women in the structure of
Russian business from two basic positions: through the analysis
hierarchical components of the socially ordered society and the
central structural elements of a market economy. Among the latter,
primary attention is given to the associated forms of capital
(joint-stock and share) and acceptance of the organization of
enterprise activity (as the joint-stock companies and trade houses).
Chronologically this work covers the period from 1890 to 1914. This
period of Russian history entails years of economic growth and
political stability, as well as years of revolutionary shocks and
economic decline.
