UPF offers a Master's programme and a Ph.d. in economics

Short History of the Program

The university was founded in 1990, and has been offering graduate courses since then.
 
Students
 
Currently 2 or 3 students in the graduate program are specializing
in economic history; however, this does not count students in the history
department. In the past five years, three students have completed their
Masters and Ph.D.s with an emphasis in economic history. These students have found
placement/gone on to further degrees at Oxford, the London School of Economics, Carlos III, etc.
 
Faculty
Currently there are six permanent faculty members who carry out research in
economic history: Albert Carreras, Enriqueta Camps, Fernando Guirao, Matthias Kipping,
Xavier Tafunell, Joachim Voth.
 
Required Courses in Economic History

Economic History is part of the Ph.D. program in Economics.

Seminar Series

There is the Economic and Business History Seminar, which meets every other week
during the terms. Speakers at UPF in the past have included Nick Crafts, Paul David,
Brad Delong, Barry Eichengreen, Joel Mokyr, Leandro Prados de la Escosura,
Alan M. Taylor, Peter Temin, and Eugene White.
