The Economic and Social History Society of Ireland was formed in 1970 to promote the study of economic and social history in Ireland. It is now a vigorous organization, with a world-wide membership, and some influence within Ireland on matters related to the teaching of these key subjects. It acts to bring together those actively engaged in research and teaching at every level.
