Description:
About 100,000 wage observations from a U.S. Census survey of manufacturing firms. Wage units were usually wage-per-day but sometimes were in piece rates. Reported retrospectively from 1880s. Observations vary from 1801 to 1880. Median year is 1873. Firms were grouped by industry and much information about the firm is reported.
