Description:
|
Economic History Data Desk allows access to datasets concerned with Spanish and Portuguese America from 1500 to 1820. Series relating to tithes, prices, mineral production and international commerce are currently available. Other series are being added regularly. In addition the Caja Page includes access to all the accounts published by John TePaske and Herbert Klein in the multivolume _The Royal Treasuries of the Spanish American Empire_. Also John TePaske's revised New World Gold and Silver Series are being made available through the Caja Page. Finally the new Comstock Page will include extensive datasets on the Comstock mining boom from 1865 to 1885 derived from public documents and company records. With all the datasets I make an effort to specify the sources, archival or printed, and the manner in which the data have been assembled and organized, and I may offer some commentary on their quality and utility. Because I use some of these datasets in my own research, they may contain statistical computations that can be easily erased. The file format is Microsoft Excel. There is no advertising nor charge.
