Should Econ. Hist. courses have finals ?

================= ECONHIST.TEACH POSTING ================= One of the biggest problems with not giving a final exam in any class, including economic history, is that it reduces the student's perceived marginal benefit from attending class. As a result attendance starts to slide. I have found that there is a huge difference in attendance when there is a final exam, even if it is worth only 10 or 15 percent of the grade.
