EH.R: socioeconomic/demographic data by US congressional districts in 1940s?

Hello all. I'm working on a project involving socioeconomic data for each US Congressional district during the Truman administration, especially the extent of union activities. I was curious if anybody is known to have collected/organized such data and if so, where it might be available? Thank you.
