Description of the session: The history of SADC and of economic development and economic integration within the region is the focus of this session. The attention will be on the macro economic policies of member states and the influence of international economic developments on the regional economy. Issues such as the agricultural development and regional integration, infrastructural development, financial markets, transport and communication, labour mobility and foreign direct investment in relation to regional development will be addressed.
