Description of the session: Study of the long distance coin circulation, from Antiquity. We hope to have a comparative study of coin exports out of the main Empires (Greek, Roman, Parthian, Islamic, including Chinese Empires). We would like to insist upon the problem of the causes of the export: armies or economies? A statistical approach will be appreciated when the documentation is missing. A special part will be devoted to the study of coin circulation in Middle East, in relation with our program of publications of Armenian and Georgiancoin finds (these coins came from Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Empires) (see http://www.cultura-net.com/moneta).
